Justin Bieber and Skrillex have found themselves being sued by Casey Daniel, who claims they stole the opening riff from her.

Well it could be if Justin Bieber and Skrillex are found guilty of copyright infringement.

The ‘Where Are Ü Now’ team is being sued by singer-songwriter Casey Daniel, stage name White Hinterland, over the opening riff of their mega hit ‘Sorry’.

Casey alleges that they stole said riff from her 2014 song ‘Ring the Bell’, which, in case youwere wondering,sounds like this:

Her legal complaint, obtained by EW, states: “The identical and/or striking similarity of ‘Sorry’ to Plaintiff’s song ‘Ring the Bell’ surpasses the realm of generic coincidence and independent creation.”

The case followsthe landmark jury decision made in 2015 wherePharrell and Robin Thicke hadto pay Marvin Gaye’s family $7.4 million after they borrowed from track ‘Got To Give It Up’ on their song ‘Blurred Lines’.
