Justin Bieber was booed during Canada's Juno Awards over the weekend.

Thanks to his Beliebers, the teen idol received the Fan Choice Award at the bash for the fourth consecutive year - however, JB was not present at the bash, causing crowds at the MTS Centre to express their displeasure as his name was read out.

Following the negative response towards Justin, Serena Ryder was forced to defend the Baby hitmaker during her acceptance speech when collecting her Songwriter of the Year gong.

Addressing the crowd, she stated: "I really think that Justin Bieber is an amazing musician and he deserves every bit of that award.

"He's been working his ass off his entire life and we need to support how awesome he is. I'm not just trying to kiss ass. He's amazing."

Biebs is yet to comment on the boos, but did take to Twitter to thank his fans, writing: "We won #JUNOFanChoice for the 4th year in a row! Love to all my beliebers. Thank u. Love u."

He then added: "As long as u are with me I will never leave you."
