Justin Bieber has opened up about his romance with Selena Gomez, telling Oprah Winfrey that he never wants the Disney star to leave his side, Hollywood Life reports.
The 18-year old, who is the latest superstar to be grilled by Oprah as part of her Next Chapter series - due to air on OWN on 25th November - says he likes stepping out with Selena as he wants people to know he's not 'ashamed' of her.
In a preview clip from the show, which was broadcasted today (25th October) on Good Morning America, Winfrey asked Biebs whether he finds it difficult dating in the public eye, to which JB replied: "We just sometimes … we gotta take back exits.
"I never make [Selena] separate from me because I don’t want her to ever feel like I’m ashamed of her. Because I feel like a lot of guys do that, especially in the business."
He explained: "They don’t want to be seen with the girl, so they’ll make them ride in separate cars. They’ll do that ‘get away’ stuff. [Selena and I] get away where … you know … getting away together."
Bieber's comments are bound to silence rumours concerning his romance with Gomez, after RadarOnline claimed that not everything is what it seems with the cute couple.
A source told the website: "Selena and Justin's relationship isn't the fairytale romance they'd like their fans to believe it is.
"They both can be very jealous. Selena can be so dramatic about Justin's exes, who aren't even in her league! They both engage in really petty arguments and it's killing their relationship."
They continued: "Justin's heart is with Selena because she's his first true love, but Selena is pretty much just riding out the relationship because she knows he's good for her image.
"Dating Justin is good for Selena's brand. Together they're a brand. Everyone in Selena's camp is aware of Justin's star power and is urging her to make it work with him."
They added: "Let's just say that if for some reason Justin's star ever fell, Selena would drop him immediately."
