Justin Bieber Late Gig Fine Claims Are An "Urban Myth"
Greenwich Council has denied reports he's received a £300k fine...
Digital Spy had previously quoted a source at the venue as saying that JB had been hit with a £300,000 after his Believe tour show on Monday (March 4) went way past the strict 11pm curfew.
However, a spokesperson for Greenwich Council has since stated: "The Royal Borough of Greenwich has not taken any action against the owners of The O2 in relation to Justin Bieber's recent performance, as no breach of our licensing conditions took place,
"It is simply a contractual issue between AEG and the artist involved, as there is no requirement for performances to finish by 11pm."
They added: "The O2 is the world's most popular entertainment venue and sells over two million tickets each and every year as it plays host to many of the world's biggest names.
"We take complaints made in relation to the venue very seriously, but it is an urban myth to suggest the we have ever levied a fine in relation to a performance there."
Bieber is rumoured to have had a row with his family and management before Monday's gig, causing him to be two hours late.
However, the star made sure he was on stage two minutes early for last night's show at the arena.
Meanwhile, in other related news, JB has entered the Wembley Stadium walk of fame after receiving a trophy for the loudest scream at the venue at the Capital FM Summertime Ball in June 2012.
Speaking of his award, the 19-year old said: "Thank you to Wembley Stadium for presenting me with my official Wembley Way Stone!"
"Such an honour to be part of Wembley history, and thank you to my amazing UK Beliebers for helping me put on an incredible show last year!"
