According to TMZ, the officer was mistaken by JB's security team as a crazed fan, leaving early reports to suggest that the Baby hitmaker had been attacked outside the Herald Square store.
A bodyguard is then said to have been issued with a summons for disorderly conduct.
An ABC reporter at the scene of the incident stated that Justin was "startled and shaken up" following the policeman's actions.

An onlooker in the crowd also said: "[The man] just jumped and literally tried to attack [Justin]. I saw Justin going, 'What? What?' Three guys were holding this guy back. He was yelling at him, it was crazy."
The 17-year old's spokesperson, Matthew Hiltzik, has since told the New York Post: "It was a momentary well-intentioned misunderstanding and the event went well. He's completely fine and has no injuries."
Justin later seemed unfazed by the incident, taking to Twitter to tell his followers: "today went well at macy's.. the fans were AMAZING, thanks to all the fans who came out to support it was a breath of fresh air."
