Justin Bieber’s April Fools' Day Pregnancy Hoax Sparks Fan Backlash

The prank has been branded "insensitive" by some followers

Justin Bieber is facing backlash for an April Fool’s Day prank that suggested he was expecting his first child with wife Hailey Baldwin.

ICYMI, the internet fully lost its mind for a good hour yesterday when the singer shared an image of a sonogram before posting an upload of Hailey cradling her stomach during a staged medical examination.

He later confirmed the whole thing was a sham, sharing an image of a dog photoshopped in a womb alongside the comment: “Wait omg is that a,,, APRIL FOOLS.”

Despite plenty of fans finding the whole thing hilarious, others said that the pregnancy hoax was insensitive to anyone out there struggling with ongoing fertility issues.

“These jokes aren’t funny... do you understand how many families have to deal with infertility and loss of pregnancy? Shame on you,” one person commented.

Another said: “Honestly people would die to become parents, I hate the ‘I’m pregnant’ April Fools. Let’s hope you and your wife aren’t infertile so you don’t feel the heartbreak of not being able to carry your own child. Just coming from a place of experience.”

A third fan pointed out that while the 25-year-old was probably trying to get his own back onreportshe’s “ready to be a dad,” he possibly should have thought twice before posting the image.

Did you fall for the pregnancy hoax or were you too switched on to fall for anyone's exciting "announcements" yesterday?
