Justin Bieber's Manager, Scooter Braun, Making Jem And The Holograms Movie
Will Justin star in the music-themed flick...?
Is Justin Bieber set to star in his first feature film?
The heartthrob already has two concert films under his belt – Believe and Never Say Never – and a TV appearance in CSI but don’t be surprised if he makes his feature film debut in the near future.
Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, is producing a live-action version of 1980s cartoon hit Jem and the Holograms. Although there’s no word yet if the Biebs is involved, he and Scooter are pretty close so we wouldn’t be surprised if he at least had a cameo in the film.
Jem tells the fictional story of Jerrica Benton, a pre-Miley Cyrus Hannah Montana, who has a pop-singing secret alter-ego she must keep a secret. Together with her band, the Holograms, she fights to protect her super-computer Synergy and the people around her from falling in harm’s way.
Braun has teamed up with G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon M Chu and Paranormal Activity producer Jason Blum and, it appears, the internet, to make the flick.
The trio are appealing to the public for their creative output, whether it’s costumes, music or casting. (That’s right, you could even audition for the film).
“We want to invite you into our process and help us make our next movie,” Jon explains.
You can submit your audition now at JemTheMovie.com and stay tuned as the team issue more “creative assignments” in the coming months.
Who knows, you could even end up starring opposite Justin Bieber himself!
