Cups of Tea Helped Kaisers on New Album
Forget drugs, sex and rock and roll, the Leeds boys were busy brewing up...
Kaiser Chiefs have announced drinking tea played a huge part in making their new album, 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob', as brilliant as their debut, 'Employment'.
"It was really important to recreate what was happening on the first album, because that was successful and we knew it was a good way to work," singer Ricky said.
"We went into the same rehearsal room, nothing special or anything. We kept the same hours, had a cup of tea, a sandwich, a bit of beer in. It's also nice to have your own bed, it puts you back in the frame of mind to do something great."
And from there the inspiration flowed, although Ricky does admit when it came to showing his lyrics to bandmate Nick Hodgson for final approval he did get the jitters.
"When you've been singing things for months you never really write them down. Then I'd have to type it out on to Nick's laptop," he told NME. "Nick never says, 'Oh, it's sh*t,' he always says, 'You can do better than that!'"
"I dread those bits. It's like handing in your homework!"
Ah, nothing a good cup of tea couldn't sort out, eh boys?
