Kanye West Calls Slavery 'A Choice' And Says He Got Lipo So He Wouldn't Be Called Fat 'Like Rob Kardashian'
The rapper made a number of controversial statements on TMZ live.
Following his social media comeback last week, Kanye West has continued his return to the spotlight with a number of interviews to promote his upcoming album.
But the return of Kanye hasn't come without controversy, as the rapper made a number of controversial statements during an appearance on TMZ Live including the suggestion that African-American slavery was 'a choice'.
Hit play on the video for the lowdown on Kanye West's recent controversial tweets...
Speaking from inside the site's newsroom on Tuesday, Kanye said: "When you hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years? That sounds like a choice."
He continued: "You were there for 400 years, and it is all of y'all? It is like we are mentally imprisoned. I like the word prison because slavery goes too direct to the idea of blacks. It is like slavery, holocaust. Holocaust, is Jews, and slavery is blacks."
"So prison is something that unites us as one race. Black and whites, one race. It is like we are one with the human race, we are human beings and stuff," he added.
Kanye later took to Twitter to clear up his statements about slavery.
Further to his tweets last week, Kanye continued to declare his 'love' for President Donald Trump.
He said: "My righteous point of view is freedom of thought. I don't have extremely strong political opinions. You can talk to John Legend if you want opinions."
He added: "I have never been into politics. I just love Trump. That is my boy."
The musician's comments about liposuction also caused a stir as he claimed he underwent the procedure so that he wouldn't be called fat 'like Rob Kardashian'.
Kanye says he became addicted to opioids at the time of the surgery, admitting: "Two days before I was in the hospital I was addicted to opioids because I was having plastic surgery because I was trying to look good for y'all."
He added: "I got liposuction because I didn't want you to call me fat like you did Rob [Kardashian] at the wedding and made him fly home before me and Kim got married."
"I didn't want you all to call me fat so I got liposuction," he said.
Following the interview, Kanye has been keenly using his Twitter to justify his comments.
