Kanye West Plays Live On SNL

Kanye West appeared on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, performing his tracks Power and Runaway in his own inimitable style.

 

The rapper played both tracks on a completely white set surrounded by ballet dancers.

 

For Power the live run-through was inspired by the video/ moving painting released with the track.

 

Kanye started the performance above the group of dancers - who wore white leotards and clapped along while moving slowly around him.

 

After walking through the women and passionately screaming lyrics he ended the performance atop of some stairs and wearing a gold crown.

 

In contrast his new single Runaway got a calmer but no less inventive performance. The ballerinas this time wore tutus as they stood behind him and moved in time with the track.

 

West - wearing an all red suit and gold chains - however played much of the song on stage alone. As at the VMAs he also brought Clipse man Pusha T on to rap his verse, whilst West played effects on a sampler.

 

Yeezy is set to release a 40 minute film to accompany Runaway later this year.

 

Saturday Night Live was this week guest hosted by Bryan Cranston, famous for roles in Malcolm In The Middle and Breaking Bad.
