Kanye West Previews New Yeezus Tune 'I Am A God'

Kanye West has posted a preview clip of new song I Am A God online.

 

West has worked with Rick Rubin on the track, which will feature on his new album Yeezus.

 

The 30-second clip opens with a window view of a palm tree. As Rubin comes into sight, giggling and lounging back, fans get the idea that the scene is of the Shangri-La Studio Yeezy spoke of during his interview with the New York Times.

Yeezy is seen recording the song, as he sits among his producers and collaborators, spitting a verse from I Am A God in a grey hoodie and headphones, laptop at his side.

 

Lyrics from the song include: "I just talked to Jesus, he said 'What up Yeezus?'/ I said, 'S**t I'm chilling, trying to stack these millions'."

 

Ye finishes his verse, and he looks to his studio mates for feedback. Should he say, "billions" instead of "millions"? Nope, Rubin thinks "millions" would be more "relatable, more for the people."

 

West is due to release Yeezus on June 18, with Kanye recently praising Rubin, telling the Times: "For him, it's really just inside of him. I'm still just a kid learning about minimalism, and he's a master of it."

 

Kanye also hit the headlines this week after being forced to deny claims made by a Canadian model that he cheated on girlfriend, Kim Kardashian.
