It's a well known fact that Kanye West is no fan of the paparazzi, so it may come as a surprise to hear that his dad was actually a paparazzo.

"My father was a paparazzo himself. My father was a medical illustrator, a Black Panther, a Christian marriage counselor,"West said, according the MailOnline, during a deposition where he's being sued by a photographer.

"My mother was the first black chair of the English department in Chicago State. They didn't raise me to be out here wrestling with random paparazzi in front of LAX,"he added.

His father, Ray West, was a photojournalistin the 1970s and '80s for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where he captured pictures of people and events in the metro area.

Kanye's court appearance stems from an incident in 2013 where he got into an altercation with pap Daniel Ramos outside LAX.

“This guy is asking me about dumb sh–,” he said. “So, you know, I’m sorry that I tried to grab his camera. But I obviously didn’t try to hurt him. I’m not here to hurt people.”
