Kanye West Working On Film With American Psycho Author

Bret Easton Ellis says he wanted to work with the rapper after he heard Yeezus...

American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis has revealed that he is working on a script for Kanye West.

The writer says the project is 'in the works' and says he was convinced to work with him after hearing his last album.

Bret told Vice magazine: "[Kanye] came and asked me to write the film. I didn't want to at first. Then I listened to Yeezus. It was early summer last year and I was driving in my car. He'd given me an advance copy, and I thought, regardless of whether I'm right for this project, I want to work with whoever made this."

He added: "I really like him as a person. I know he comes off in this performance-art way in the press, but if you're just alone with him in a room talking for three hours, it's kind of mind-blowing."

The author said that the project is now 'in Kanye land' and admitted he has no idea when it will see the light of day.

Kanye had previously appeared as a guest on Bret's podcast series and remade a scene from American Psycho to promote his Yeezus album.
