Kanye West Working With Daft Punk On New Album
French dance music act talk about collaboration with Yeezy...
Kanye Westhas teamed up withDaft Punk for his forthcoming album, the French dance music pioneers have revealed.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, they confirmed that they had been collaborating with Yeezy on material for his sixth studio album - which is expected to be released later this year.
"It was very raw. He was rapping - kind of screaming primally, actually," said Thomas Bangalter.
And bandmate Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo added: "Kanye doesn't give a f**k. He's a good friend."
Kanye famously used a Daft Punk sample in his hit Stronger, which featured the Punks' costumes in its video.
And the French act used the same interview to have a moan about the current state of dance music.
Bangalter said: "Electronic music right now is in its comfort zone and it's not moving one inch. That's not what artists are supposed to do.
"[It's having] an identity crisis: You hear a song, whose track is it? There's no signature.
"Skrillex has been successful because he has a recognisable sound: You hear a dubstep song, even if it's not him, you think it's him."
Kanye is to become a dad for the first time later this year.
