Will Ferrell has revealed it was “surreal” to film alongside rapper Kanye Westfor Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
Kanye makes a cameo appearance towards the end of the movie representing none other than your truly, MTV News.
Discussing Kanye’s cameo on The Jonathan Ross Show, Ferrell explained that in the film, which is set in the ‘80s, Kanye “represents a brand new channel called MTV.”
“It was great,” he said of Kanye’s presence on set. “It was very surreal to have Kanye, who’s such a big fan of comedy, and that movie, hanging out for two days.”
He also revealed that the cast got a preview of Kanye’s latest album, Yeezus, which had yet to be released when the film was being shot. Will divulged: “we had a first listen and he was playing the tracks a lot.”
“Over and over again. Even when you’re trying to film. And they’re loud. They’re loud too,” laughed the actor, jokingly adding that they had a “scared 18 year-old intern” tell him to turn the music down.
Anchorman 2 is out this Wednesday (18 December).
