Kasabian Are "A Great Band", Says The Beatles' Ringo Starr
Legendary drummer tells NME that he believes rock band's will continue to be popular...
The Beatles' Ringo Starr appears to be a fan of Kasabian, after branding them a "great band".
During an interview with NME, the Fab Four's former drummer stated: "Earlier on I heard Kasabian doing a BBC thing (BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge). They're a great band.
I'm caught up in love and I'm in ecstasy
What can I do now, when nothing's the same?
And all that I know, I wanna do it again
Well tell me now
Life is so simple when you are with me
'Cos when we're together I'm in ecstasy
I'm in ecstasy, I'm in ecstasy, I'm in ecstasy
Everybody go!
All you pretty things get on board this mothership, I said
All you've gotta be is ready for action baby
Don't think I'm twisted, as a matter of fact
Welcome you now to the second act
Well I fought off robots and the men in the suits
Wear off the soles of your monkey boots
Well tell me know
I can't get enough by the sunshine
Can't get enough by the moonlight
And all the colours that are coming on strong
Trying to hold on, trying to hold
Can't get enough by the oceans
Can't get enough by the mantra
All we will ever feel is ecstasy
We're in ecstasy, we're in ecstasy, we're in ecstasy
Everybody go!
All you pretty things get on board this mothership, I said
All you've gotta be is ready for action baby
Well tell me know
Can't get enough by the sunshine
Can't get enough by the moonlight
And all the colours that are coming on strong
Trying to hold on, trying to hold
Can't get enough by the oceans
Can't get enough by the mantra
All we will ever feel is ecstasy
We're in ecstasy, we're in ecstasy, we're in ecstasy
Everybody go!
All you pretty things get on board this mothership, I said
All you've gotta be is ready for action baby
Ready for action baby,
Ready for action baby
When asked if he believes rock bands will continue to have success, Starr claimed: "I think so. I think people wanna see people playing and singing."
As for his own music, the 74-year old musician said: "I'm always touring. I love to play – that's why I do this.
"A lot of the bands wanna do it to be famous. But I wanna do it to play. That was all my dream was about, and then we became famous."
Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno also hit the headlines this week after promising that their next album will be "bombastic".
