Kate Hudson: "I Want Girls To Love Themselves"
The actress opens up about body image, being a role model and fiancé Matt Bellamy to Red magazine...
Kate Hudson has been speaking out about body image in the latest issue of Red.
The actress, who's engaged to Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, once sued a magazine for claiming she had an eating disorder, and says that's the last thing she'd want her fans to think.
"I want girls to love themselves", she says, in an interview with the women's mag.
"If there is one thing I will never have, it is an eating disorder. I won't have girls - even if it is just one or two who care - thinking that. Because it's a serious sickness, not something to plaster on the cover of a magazine. And I am the opposite."
The Bride Wars star was ironically even criticised for putting on weight when she was pregnant with her first son, Ryder.
"Right! And I want to be giving girls the message that, sometimes you do gain 70 pounds having a baby. The whole point is I want girls to love themselves. I want them to feel good about who they are.
“The thing is... I'm lucky because I was loved. But I have seen so many young women who can't feel good about themselves because they just don't have... that love."
She also opened up about her rock star fiancé, and how they're in no hurry to tie the knot.
Speaking of Matt, the 35-year old beauty stated: "I'm not in a rush. We are basically married. It's really about when are we going to take the time to plan a wedding."
She even joked that she doesn't like wearing her engagement ring as "it can be a little much", and prefers to wear her 'push' ring instead - a gift she was given after having her now three-year-old son, Bing.
The full interview with Kate will be in Red magazine's October issue, on sale September 4.
'Till you sacrifice it all (all)
You won't get to taste it
With your face against the wall (wall wall)
Get up and commit
Show the power trapped within (in in)
Do just what you want to
And now stand up and begin, uh
Oooh, one, two, three, four, fire's in your eyes
And this chaos, it defies imagination
Oooh, five, six, seven, eight minus nine lives
You've arrived at Panic Station
Doubts will try to break you
Unleash your heart and soul (soul)
Trouble will surround you
Start taking some control (trol!)
Stand up and deliver
Your wildest fantasy (sy-sy)
Do what the fuck you want to
There's no one to appease
Oooh, one, two, three, four, fire's in your eyes
And this chaos, it defies imagination
Oooh, five, six, seven, eight minus nine lives
You've arrived at Panic Station
Oooh, one, two, three, four, fire's in your eyes
And this chaos, it defies imagination
Oooh, five, six, seven, eight minus nine lives
And I know that you will fight for the duration
Oooh, one, two, three, four, fire's in your eyes
And I know I'm not resisting the temptations
Oooh, five, six, seven, eight minus nine lives
You've arrived at Panic Station
