Kate Middleton Gives Birth To Baby Boy!

Mother and baby "doing well" after birth in London today...

Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, has given birth to a baby boy!
K-Middy and hubby Prince William welcomed their first child - who is third in line to the throne - at 16:24 BST today (July 22) at St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, West London.
Wills was present at the birth, with Kensington Palace confirming the news in a statement, which read: "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 4.24pm. The baby weighs 8lbs 6oz.

“The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.
“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well and will remain in hospital overnight.”

New dad William simply stated: "We could not be happier", while a Buckingham Palace spokesman added that The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh "are delighted at the news."
William's father, Prince Charles, also said tonight: "Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild.

"It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy.

"Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone’s life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future.”

William's press officer Ed Perkins was seen leaving the hospital with the notice of birth - which is now proudly displayed on an easel outside Buckingham Palace and has been signed by the Queen’s former gynaecologist Marcus Setchell.

It notes that both Kate and her son "are both doing well", while BBC News adds that Setchell has also said the heir to the throne is a "wonderful baby. Beautiful baby."

Prime Minister David Cameron also declared the birth was “an important moment in the life of our nation”, concluding: “They can know that a proud nation is celebrating with a very proud and happy couple tonight.”

It is currently unknown what Wills and Kate have named their son, with Kensington Palace stating: “The names of the baby will be announced in due course.”

Congratulations!
