Kate Middleton Wears £59 Dress, World Does Not Freeze Over
[uuid:345008]
The Duchess Of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, has stepped out in what we think might be her most thrifty outfit yet: a £59 black roll neck maternity dress from Séraphine. Teaming the frock with black opaque tights and a sensible heel, K-Middy continued her royal tour of New York with husband Prince William, after their exciting Monday evening at the Brooklyn Nets game with Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
[related] This isn’t the first time Kate has opted for a budget-friendly look, famously favouring dresses from Reiss, blazers and necklaces from Zara and even the odd frock from Topshop. However, after reports back in February that the Queen wanted her granddaughter-in-law to look more regal, we feared it was going to be unattainable Alexander McQueen couture all the way.
Not so, though later on Tuesday evening Kate slipped in to a deep blue Jenny Packham gown, to attend a gala dinner at New York’s Metropolitan Museum Of Art. Still keeping it real, the Duchess has worn the dress twice before, at the 100 Women in Hedge Funds benefit in October 2013 and again to a fundraiser at the Portrait Gallery in London in February this year.
Now we know what we’re wearing to our office Christmas party: the same thing as last year.
