Palace To Sue Over Topless Kate Middleton Pictures
Legal action being taken against French mag which published long-lens snaps...
St James's Palace has confirmed that it is taking legal action against the French edition of Closer magazine, which this week [uuid=4e2d3ec1-de2e-4bb7-b29b-5a99cd8d2d1d]Kate Middleton - too.
A statement from the palace yesterday described the pictures - of Wills and Kate on holiday in Provence - as "reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales".
"Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house," the statement added. "It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them."
But the editor of Closer France has defended the decision to print the pictures and insisted that the reaction has been over the top.
The Sun has declared that it will NOT publish the images, despite recently printing pictures of Prince Harry naked in his Las Vegas hotel room.
