Katherine Jenkins Breaks Down In Tears On Stage

Katherine Jenkins broke down in tears during a show in Oxford last night (8th January) following her split from TV presenter, Gethin Jones.

Last month, the singer confirmed her break-up from Jones telling her Twitter followers: "Sorry for being quiet of late, its just that I have some very sad news. Geth & I have decided to go our separate ways. We are both beyond broken-hearted. All your hugs & support will be much appreciated xxx."

It seemed to get all too much for Jenkins during the first night of her UK tour at the New Oxford Theatre, with the 31-year old weeping as she sang Your Silhouette.

The song, which includes the lyrics 'lying in your empty bed' and 'clinging to a memory of you', clearly tugged at Katherine's heartstrings, leaving her in tears.

After getting upset, Jenkins turned away from the audience and was comforted by conductor Anthony Inglis, who gave the emotional star his hanky.

He later tweeted it had been 'an emotional evening', adding: "Glad I could come to the aid with a hanky. Needed one myself."

Ex-Blue Peter star Gethin also previously commented on their split tweeting: "Hi everybody. I'm deeply sad to tell you that Kath and I have ended our relationship as a couple. We are both heart broken... Gx."
