Oscar Pistorius 'Messaged Katie Price On Twitter'
Reality TV star reveals killer athlete reached out to her after column...
We've seen a few strange celebrity friendships in our time, but nothing that comes anywhere near this.
Katie Price has revealed that she has been direct messaged on Twitter by Oscar Pistorius, the South African paralympian recently convicted of shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp dead.
KP had been sounding off about the high-profile case in her magazine column - and while many observers had found the evidence against the sportsman damning, she had publicly vowed not to rush to judge him.
She told The Mirror: "He was direct messaging me during the case. It's weird, isn't it? He was saying, 'Thanks for the support' and stuff. Just all general chit-chat. He was the first one to message me.
"Because I mentioned him in my column, he was referencing that. I wasn't exactly supporting him, but everyone who goes through a trial will be the only one who knows what really happened. You're innocent until you're proven guilty."
And she admitted that she thought it was fake when her brother Dan originally showed her the message.
"He said, 'Oh my god, Kate – have a look at who's direct messaged you on Twitter'. I said, 'It's got to be fake'. He said, 'No, it's from his verified account'.
"I would interview him, I would love to."
Pistorius was sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of the culpable homicide, having shot Steenkamp dead through a bathroom door at home.
Prosecutors are now set to appeal the verdict and the sentence.
