Katy Perry Cancels Gigs Due To Illness

Katy Perry has cancelled two dates on her US tour after falling ill.
A rep confirmed that the Firework star was suffering from “an attack of food poisoning leading to severe dehydration” and had been ordered by a doctor to get bed rest.
Two dates on her California Dreams tour, in Chicago and Minnesota, scheduled for 8 and 9 July, have now been postponed until 21 and 23 August.
Katy reached out to disappointed fans in a message on her website: "I apologise to my fans in Chicago and the Twin Cities for not being able to perform this weekend, but I am going to return in a few weeks to give them the very best show ever!"
She also took to Twitter to reassure fans. “Chicago and St Paul - I'm so sorry to have to postpone today and tomorrow's shows,” Katy wrote. “But I'll be back.”
On a brighter note, the star’s hit E.T. has just been named the biggest selling song in America so far this year, with over four million downloads. Her album, Teenage Dream, is also the 10th best seller of 2011.
The California Dreams tour his the UK in October with dates in Sheffield, London, Liverpool, Cardiff, Belfast, Birmingham, Newcastle, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Manchester and Nottingham.
