Katy Perry 'Didn't Want To Sit On New LP'
K-Pez explains how she moved forward Prism's release to October...
Katy Perryhas revealed she was originally due to release her new album Prism next year, but couldn't "sit on it" any longer.
During an interview with Billboard, K-Pez explained how her third studio LP was slated for February 2014 - but she decided to unleash it on October 21 instead.
The Roar singer explained: "In May I sat down with my managers and said, 'Guys, I think I'm going to have everything ready enough to come out this fourth quarter.'
"We weren't really thinking we'd be able to put anything out until February [2014], but you don't want to sit on something that's about to burst."
Speaking of her new LP, Perry added: "I didn't want to do Teenage Dream 2.0. Teenage Dream was highly conceptual, super-pop art.
"Prism is more organic, au natural, vulnerable and honest, but still has the same amount of fun."
