Speculation that Mayer may have popped the question started after K-Pez was spotted sporting a heart-shaped ring on her engagement finger while on a dinner date with the singer/songwriter last week.

However, it has now emerged that the sparkler was in fact a 'commitment' ring, which Mayer gave Katy as a gift for Valentine's Day.
