Katy Perry Reveals New Album ‘Witness’
'Witness' will feature both 'Chained to the Rhythm' & 'Bon Appétit’.
Katy Perry has revealed the album title for her upcoming fourth studio album: Witness.
Releasing on June 9, a statement said that Perry’s Witness: "reflects on the changes in her own life and in the world around her, delivering songs that both challenge and inspire."
Witness will feature both ‘Chained to the Rhythm’, featuring Skip Marley (Bob Marley’s grandson) and ‘Bon Appétit’, featuring Migos. (Who are everywhere at the moment. Not that we, or anyone for that matter, is complaining.)
Katy Perry also announced that she’ll be heading out on a mammoth North American tour later in the year, but, before that, Katy will be flying to 2017’s UK City of Culture, Hull, for Radio 1’s Big Weekend later this month. According to the BBC, Katy is “looking forward to tasting other local delicacies like chip spice and savoury patties”. We love that.
The album title reveal was teased over the weekend when Katy released a snippet of a bouncy, light new track with the lyrics: “can I get a witness / will you be my witness / I’m just looking for a witness in all of this / a witness to get me through this”.
