Katy Perry & Russell Brand 'Overjoyed' To Be Married
After reports a 'man-eating' tiger threatened to ruin their big day...
A representative for the couple - who tied the knot over the weekend - said in a statement: "Russell Brand and Katy Perry are overjoyed to confirm that they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Brand on Saturday, October 23."
"The very private and spiritual ceremony, attended by the couples' closest family and friends was performed by a Christian minister and longtime friend of the Hudson Family,"
The spokesman added: "The backdrop was the inspirational and majestic countryside of Northern India."
However, The Sun has reported that their big day didn't exactly go as smoothly as they would have liked, after a 'man-eating' tiger crashed their wedding celebrations.
The animal, which allegedly killed three people in the last year, is said to have been just 50ft from the newlyweds and their guests, after it scaled two walls to enter the complex.
Officials at the Ranthambore National Park have since explained that the tiger was drawn to the lights and music from the wedding celebrations and could have killed any of the 85 guests at the bash.
A source told the newspaper: "This particular tiger has killed before. It came into the compound at 11pm, with the party at its peak, and caused pandemonium among staff."
Bodyguards are thought to have patrolled the area outside the newlyweds marital tent, to protect the pair.
Meanwhile, the Hot N Cold hitmaker, who is said to have wed Brand wearing a dove-grey Ellie Saab couture dress, reportedly told friends at her wedding that she wants to 'try for a baby' after a fortunetelling parrot told her she would fall pregnant soon.
