Katy Perry Talks 'I Kissed A Girl' In Part Of Me Film Clip
Her religious parents discuss K-Pez's sexy debut single in her new movie...
Katy Perryhas unveiled a brand new clip from her forthcoming flick Part Of Me: 3D, which shows the singer discussing her 2008 hit single I Kissed A Girl with her evangelical Christian parents.
In the teaser, K-Pez's family opens up about their initial reactions to the not-so-religious track, with her sister Angela recalling: "When Katy decided that 'I Kissed a Girl' was going to be a her first single, I said, 'Have you told mom and dad?' And she said, 'No, but can you?' "
When they found out, her pastor parents, Mary and Keith Hudson, had some minor reservations about how it would affect them, with Keith explaining: "I was a little concerned, yeah, 'cause I thought my ministry after 30-something years is over. But, you know what? Never had a problem."
And Katy too assures that, despite what fans may have thought, the track didn't cause strife between the singer and her family.
The 27-year old states in the clip: "I think people love the idea of 'a good girl gone bad'. And they think my parents have disowned me, but that's not the story at all."
In addition to the confessions, the film also includes behind-the-scenes moments from her colourful California Dreams Tour.
During one of those candid moments, Perry teases her parents about I Kissed a Girl when they visit her backstage, joking that it's their favourite song of hers.
In addition to the film, ahead of its release on 5th July, Perry will premiere her clip for her dreamy ballad, Wide Awake. The video will get its big premiere on 20th June at 12.55am on MTV (channel 126).
