Katy Perry has teased her forthcoming performance at the Super Bowl - revealing that she will be joined by a very special guest on stage!

Speaking at a press conference ahead of her half-time show on Sunday (February 1), Katy - who suitably dressed as a American football-inspired cheerleader - teased that she’ll be bringing out an “old school” female singer.

[related]The Dark Horse singer revealed: “I wanted to bring someone back — a throwback of sorts. [Someone] that definitely needed some more shine.

“All I can say is that it will be a real female fun night. It’s a bit old school, yes. But when I think when this person enters the stage and when you hear the first ring of the chord, I think jaws will drop and faces will melt.”

Fans soon began to speculate on Twitter over who would be joining K-Pez, with the likes of Britney Spears, Rihanna and Janet Jackson all in the mix.

The 30-year old also went on to drop somemore hints about her 12-minute stint, stating: “I’m probably the only person in Super Bowl Halftime history that will ever bring both a lion and sharks to the show.

Perry also added that she feels “blessed” to be performing at the huge sporting event at such a young age, before going onto to praise previous headliners Beyoncé and Madonna.

And in typical K-Pez fashion, when asked if she had her eye on a particular NFL hottie, the star joked: "I'm just here so I don't get fined."

As well as her mystery special guest, the California Gurl will also be joined by Lenny Kravitz on stage.
