Katy Perry To "Bring The Sass" For Super Bowl Half-Time Show
MTV News Top Story: K-Pez also praises previous headliners Madge and Queen B, before stating she's planning a show with "soft-serve sexiness"...
Katy Perry has teased her forthcoming performance at the Super Bowl half-time show, revealing she hopes to bring her "soft-serve sexiness" to the event on February 1.
When asked what we can expect from her stint on stage, K-Pez explained: "Here is my intention, is that everyone talks about the music and nothing else. I want to bring the humour, I want to bring the colour, I want to bring the sass and I want to bring the incredible joy.
"Those are the characteristics I'm working with. I'm going to play a mash-up of songs because I can't fit all of them in there. And I'm going to play the ones that really resonate with people."
Speaking of which previous headliners inspire her, Perry noted: "I love the combination of Madonna's show she brought with graphics, and also I love the fierceness and the power and the strength and the sexiness that Beyoncé brought.
"I mean, I'm definitely going to borrow the fans that she used, with the hair blowing and everything. But I think what will be different about mine is I'm not so serious. And there's going to be a lot of fun, a lot of humour in it."
Seeing as the Super Bowl has been hit with controversy in the past (think Janet Jackson's nip-slip, M.I.A.'s middle finger), the Dark Horse singer went on to add that she plans a less risqué gig: "Everything I've done in my career hasn't been blatant this or that.
"It's always with a wink. It's a soft-serve sexiness. It's not - you know, it's not exactly like sexy or risqué."
That's Perry good to hear!
