Katy Perry has called rumoured rival Taylor Swift a “sweetheart” in an exclusive interview with ELLE magazine.

Fresh from her performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday (February 1), K-Pez seemed to compliment T-Swizzle when casting her dream pop music soap opera.

[related]The 30-year old babe explained to the publication: “You've got to name someone the villain, someone the princess, someone the mom-, the dad-type – you know there always have to be characters.

"As pop figures, we're all characters. And the media uses that. Who is the sweetheart, who is the villain? You know. Taylor's the sweetheart. Kanye's the villain. That's the narrative.”

Perry also heaped praise on previous Super Bowl performer Beyoncé, telling the March issue of the mag: “Oh my God. I'm such a Beyoncé fan.”

Pointing to Queen B’s short film she made in support of her visual album, K-Pez stated: “I was like, Finallllly. Finally I see you. I don't see some propaganda version of you. I see you. I relate to who you are."

As well as discussing her love for Bey, the Roar singer also revealed there’s a particular UK songstress who she is also a big fan of…

“Adele is so real and couldn't care less about the trappings of fame," Perry says.

"She came to a show at the Hammersmith Apollo in England and stole my after-show burrito. She's like [heavy British accent], 'How the f**k did you get a burrito in England?' "
