The Highest Paid Woman In Music Has Been Revealed And You Might Be Surprised
Then again, there's a good chance you won't be.
Forbes have just released their annual list for the highest paid women in music and it sounds like both Katy Perry and Taylor Swift have a lot to celebrate this year.
The former enemies rank at number one and two respectively, with Katy raking in an impressive $83 million due to a combination of earnings from Witness: The Tour and her time as a judge on the rebooted American Idol.
Taylor comes in at a close second, having earned a casual income of $80 million. Forbes have also noted that part of the reason why she didn’t achieve the top spot is because many of the dates on her Reputation tour fell outside the limits of their consideration.
It sounds like the Delicate singer might be in with a chance of topping the 2019 list, with Katy having announced that she’s planning a break from the music industry: “I’ve been on the road for like 10 years, so I’m just going to chill,” she told Footwear News last month.
“I’m not going to go straight into making another record. I feel like I’ve done a lot. I feel like I’ve rung the bell of being a pop star very loudly, and I’m very grateful for that.”
The pair only buried their feud back in May after Katy sent Taylor a literal olive branch in the post. The rest of the 2018 rich list includes Beyoncé ($60 million); Pink ($52 million); Lady Gaga ($50 million); Jennifer Lopez ($47 million); and Rihanna ($37.5 million.)
