Kaya Scodelario Lands Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 Lead

Super-producer Jerry Buckheimer announces casting news...

Kaya Scodelario is leaping from The Maze Runner to the female lead role in Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

The 22-year-old beauty - who first came to fame playing Effie in Channel 4's hit drama Skins - has been confirmed by super-producer Jerry Bruckheimer for the fifth movie in the Pirates franchise.

He tweeted: "Pleased to announce that we cast Kaya Scodelario for the 5th Pirates of the Caribbean. Talented young actor from Skins & The Maze Runner."

Scodelario has recently finished filming the sequel to The Maze Runner in New Mexico - telling fans on Twitter that it was "f**king freezing".

So she'll be pleased to be jetting off to Queensland, Australia, next month when production gets under way on Pirates 5.

The film will also star Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow again and Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa.

Scodelario is engaged to marry Benjamin Walker, an actor who she met while working on The Moon And The Sun - a period drama due for release this year.
