Keane Set To Split Up After 16 Years

Tom Chaplin going solo and Tim Rice-Oxley writing for others...

Keane have announced that they are to split up after 16 years making music together.
The stadium rock outfit's new greatest hits album will be their last and frontman Tom Chaplin has already declared his intention in a solo career.
Meanwhile acclaimed songwriter Tim Rice-Oxley is apparently intending to work with other artists - and has already written for Kylie Minogue and Gwen Stefani.
A source told The Sun: "Every one of their four albums has gone to No 1. They haven't fallen out and will stay close mates.
"But they've decided it's time to quit at the top and spend time with their wives and families.
"Tom's been wanting to make a solo album for a while but has been busy on tour with the band. Now he's got some songs written and has put a plan together to release a solo record soon."
A spokesman for the band confirmed: "Keane are taking a break after the Best Of to pursue their own projects."
But the band could still go out with a No 1 single, in a manner of speaking - because Lily Allen is reported to be covering their hit Somewhere Only We Know for this year's John Lewis Christmas advert.
