Ke$ha's Mum: "It's A Miracle She Didn't Drop Dead"
Blames Ke$ha's manager and producer for pressuring her over weight...
Ke$ha’s mother, Pebe Sebert, has spoken out about her daughter’s eating disorder, claiming that by the time Ke$ha checked into rehab she was so deficient in nutrients she almost died.
“I've watched my beautiful, self-confident, brilliant daughter be berated and ridiculed for her looks and weight to the point that she almost died," Pebe told People magazine.
The Timber singer’s mother – who recently joined Ke$ha in rehab – explained: “The doctors told me her blood pressure and sodium levels were so low, they'd never seen it that low except with someone who'd had a heart attack or stroke.”
“They said it was a miracle she hadn't already dropped dead on stage."
According to her mum, the 26-year old has battled body issues since she was a teenager but they escalated once she broke into the music industry.
Pebe revealed that the situation came to a head just before Christmas: "She called me and admitted how much she'd been throwing up, and I just said, 'Okay.' I called some centers and Ke$ha agreed to talk to them and liked what they said.”
“She basically cried until we got there three days later."
As for life after rehab, the Crazy Kids singer is apparently putting her health first.
"At this point, she doesn't care if she ever makes a record again,” Pebe said. “She just wants to be healthy and happy.”
