R&B singer Kehlani is recovering in hospital after an apparent suicide attempt on Monday night (March 28).

The 20-year-old posted a photo on Instagram from a hospital bed, showing her hooked up to an IV.

While she deactivated her profile (as well as her Twitter account) soon after, Kehlani also shared a caption, posting: “Today I wanted to leave this earth. Being completely selfish for once.

“Never thought I’d get to such a low point. But… Don’t believe the blogs you read… No one was cheated on and I’m not a bad person… Everyone is hurt and everyone is in a place of misunderstanding…

“But as of today, I had no single wish to see tomorrow… But God saved me for a reason, and for that… I must be grateful…

“[Because] I’m not in heaven right now for a reason… On that note… Bye Instagram.”

The singer is also said to have shared a photo of Partynextdoor sitting by her hospital bed with the caption: “Thank you for saving my life”.

Kehlani had recently been accused of cheating on boyfriend Kyrie Irving, after her ex Partynextdoor posted a photo of the two in bed together.

The star is also the only featured singer on Zayn Malik’s 'Mind Of Mine' album, appearing on his song ‘wRoNg’.
