Kelly Clarkson is taking on Ellie Goulding for this weekend's No.1 position with her brand new single Heartbeat Song.

Kelly, who last hit the top spot back in 2009 with My Life Would Suck WithoutYou, is currently at No.2 in today's Official Chart Update behind Ellie Goulding's Love Me Like You Do, which has spent the past three week's as the UK's chart-topper.

Elsewhere in the midweek Top 10, The Weeknd climbs another spot to No.3 with Fifty Shades Of Grey track Earned It while Hozier falls two places to No.4 with Take Me To Church.

Climbing 15 places to No.5 this week is David Guetta with his Emeli Sande-featured track What I Did For Love.

Down one to No.6 is Rihanna's FourFiveSeconds Ft. Kanye West and Paul McCartney, Mark Ronson's Uptown Funk leaves the Top 5 to No.7and DJ Fresh & Ella Eyre's Gravity falls two places to No.8.

Down two places to No.9 is Maroon 5 with Sugar and rounding off the Top 10 is Chris Brown who climbs two spots with Ayo Ft. Tyga.
