Kelly Clarkson Gets Apology From Fox News Host Over Body-Shaming Comments

Maybe these comments should never have been made in the first place…

US Fox News host Chris Wallace has finally issued an apology for making extremely rude body-shaming comments regarding Kelly Clarkson's weight on Friday.

Not realising his error until Sunday, Chris said in a statement to Us Weekly:

“I sincerely apologize to Kelly Clarkson for my offensive comment. I admire her remarkable talent and that should have been the focus of any discussion about her.”

The comment he is referring to occurred during a discussion on The Mike Gallagher Show, when both men made shocking remarks.

“Have you seen Kelly Clarkson? You know the singer, Kelly Clarkson? Holy cow, did she blow up,” Gallagher said, to which Wallace replied, “Really? Do we want to talk about some of your friends? Kelly Clarkson’s got a lovely voice. She could stay off the deep dish pizza for a little while.”

Clearly a strong woman when it comes to other people making unnecessary comments, Kelly told Ellen DeGenreres on Friday that it's her fans who she doesn't want to get hurt.

“I think what hurts my feelings for people is when I’ll have a meet and greet after the show and a girl whose, like, bigger than me will be in the meet and greet and be like, ‘Oh, God!’ And they’ll say, ‘If they think you’re big, I must be so fat to them,'” she said. “It’s like, you just are who you are. We are who we are — whatever size. It doesn’t mean that we’re gonna be that forever.”

We think you look amazing, Kelly.
