Kendrick Lamar has spoken out in support of Taylor Swift, stating he "appreciates" that the singer is supporting hip-hop culture.

During her recent interview with Rolling Stone, T-Swizzleadmitted to knowing all the words to Lamar's song Backseat Freestyle, adding that it is her "trick to immediately go from feeling victimised to feeling awesome".

[related]When asked about Swift's comments, the 27-year old told The AP: "Some people always try to lock it down and categorise it for one particular listener.

"I appreciate Taylor Swift for supporting not only my music but just the hip-hop culture. There's really no gap. It's music and it feels good."

Kendrick's comments come after Odd Future star Earl Sweatshirt slammed the music video for Swift's new tune Shake It Off for "perpetuating black stereotypes to the same demographic of white girls who hide their prejudice by proclaiming their love of the culture".
