Kendrick Lamar Gives Reebok Classic (And Compton) A Voice With New Campaign
The rapper spits rhymes for Reebok to empower youth…
Kendrick Lamar is using his voice for a good cause, as his new campaign with Reebok Classic aims to empower youth, seeing the rapper return to his hometown of Compton, California, to encourage kids off of the streets and into music. Oh, and he also gives a sneak peek at the new Ventilator OG, which debuts on January 15th 2015.
“Reebok has a history of helping kids in the community realise their potential is limitless,” says Kendrick. “I saw what the brand was doing, and I wanted to be a part of it and make it even stronger. It’s as simple as that. Kids that listen to my music are looking for inspiration. It’s important that I continue that message in anything I represent.”
In the brand’s campaign video, Reebok Presents Kendrick Lamar - I AM, the rapper visits his old stomping ground Centennial High School and performs his tribute to Compton, the verse ‘I AM’.
Watch the campaign video above and mark January 15th on your calendars, sneakerheads.
