Dr Luke Wants Kesha’s Medical Records Released
Kesha has countered the request.
In 2014, Kesha filed a lawsuit against Dr Luke, real name Lukasz Gottwald, asking to be released from her contract as she claimed the producer ‘drugged her’ and ‘sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally abused her’.
According to Page Six, the producer is now requesting Kesha’s medical records in a Manhattan court filing to ‘disprove her claim that he raped her’. In the filing, he allegedly says that she ‘unambiguously waived’ any therapist-patient privilege when she fought to be freed from her recording contract.
It’s reported that Kesha has countered the filing, claiming the privilege is in place to protect ‘a person’s innermost thoughts and feelings’, and that releasing her records would affect and endanger information about other rape victims’ private therapy sessions.
A Manhattan judge will make the ruling.
