Kesha Thanks Fans For Support During Dr Luke Court Case In Emotional Speech
Yep, we're crying.
Kesha picked up the Human Rights Campaign 2016 Visibility Award last night, and it's safe to say it was an emotional moment.
The singer, who is currently in an ongoing legal battle with her record label and Dr Luke, won the accolade for her work with and for the LGBT community, always doing whatever she can to help people love each other and themselves.
So it wasn't surprising when she took a moment during her speech to thank fans for their support, and to urge others in similar situations to speak up.
"I'm going through some personal things that have been really intense," she began. "Fame is strange and unnatural but I'm grateful for it."
"My message today is don't be afraid to speak up against any injustice you experience.
"Don't let people scare or shame you into changing the things about you that make you unique," she added.
Kesha continued: "We all have to fight for what is right, even if the cards are stacked against us. That's the only way that progress happens."
The singer was recently denied the opportunity to leave her contract with Dr Luke, who she claims abused her both sexually and mentally from the age of 18.
However, Sony has since said it is "not in a position to terminate the contractual relationship between Luke and Kesha."
