Khalid and Diplo Are Working On New Music Together
Is the 'American Teen' going to feature on Major Lazer's new album?
Khalid dipped his toes into the EDM waters with Marshmello last year and now he's ready to play with the kings.
The 'Silence' singer is working on new music with the one and only Diplo, who revealed the huge collaboration on Twitter this morning.
It's no secret that Diplo is more or less always working on something with someone and has a reputation for teaming up with rising stars, so this makes perfect sense.
The hard part always seems to last forever
Sometimes I forget that we aren't together
Deep down in my heart, I hope you're doing alright
But from time to time I often think of why you aren't mine
But I'll keep your number saved
'Cause I hope one day you'll get the sense to call me
I'm hoping that you'll say
You're missing me the way I'm missing you
So I'll keep your number saved
'Cause I hope one day I'll get the pride to call you
To tell you that no one else
Is gonna hold you down the way that I do
Now, I can't say I'll be alright without you
And I can't say that I haven't tried to
But, all your stuff is gone
I erased all the pictures from my phone
Of me and you
Heres what I'll do
I'll keep your number saved
'Cause I hope one day you'll get the sense to call me
I'm hoping that you'll say
You're missing me the way I'm missing you
So I'll keep your number saved
'Cause I hope one day I'll get the pride to call you
To tell you that no one else
Is gonna hold you down the way that I do
I hope you think of all the times we shared
I hope you'll finally realize I was the only one who cared
It's crazy how this love thing seems unfair
You won't find a love like mine anywhere
But I'll keep your number saved
'Cause I hope one day you'll get the sense to call me
I'm hoping that you'll say
You're missing me the way I'm missing you
So I'll keep your number saved
'Cause I hope one day I'll get the pride to call you
To tell you that no one else
Is gonna hold you down the way that I do
But I'll keep your number saved
'Cause I hope one day you'll get the sense to call me
I'm hoping that you'll say
You're missing me the way I'm missing you
So I'll keep your number saved
'Cause I hope one day I'll get the pride to call you
To tell you that I'm finally over you
I'm finally over you
The Major Lazer star revealed the exciting collaboration when he shared a picture of the ultra-talented duo, captioned "Cooking with @thegreatkhalid."
Of course, they weren't in a traditional kitchen with an oven, hobs and microwave but a studio, fairly another place with lots of buttons that do things we're not quite sure of.
While it has not been confirmed, Genius updated details of Major Lazer's upcoming album Music Is The Weapon earlier this week to reveal a release date and track list, however it has since been removed.
They reported that the album is scheduled to drop on March 16th, while revealing that Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello and Tinashe would all make apperances.
So, will Khalid join these A-list pop stars on the album? Potentially, although with the secrecy in pop music nowadays it could be for anything.
We would adore to hear the 'Young Dumb & Broke' singer crooning on a proper banger produced by Diplo.
For now, we wait (impatiently)...

'Cause all my life, I've been fighting
Never felt a feeling of comfort
All this time, I've been hiding
And I never had someone to call my own, oh nah
I'm so used to sharing
Love only left me alone
But I'm at one with the silence
I've found peace in your violence
Can't tell me there's no point in trying
I'm at one, and I've been quiet for too long, oh
I've found peace in your violence
Can't tell me there's no point in trying
I'm at one, and I've been silent for too long, oh
I've been quiet for too long, oh
I've been quiet for too long, oh
I've found peace in your violence
Can't tell me there's no point in trying
I'm at one, and I've been quiet for too long, oh
I'm in need of a savior (Savior)
But I'm not asking for favors
My whole life, I've felt like a burden
I think too much, and I hate it
I'm so used to being in the wrong
I'm tired of caring
Loving never gave me a home
So I'll sit here in the silence
I've found peace in your violence
Can't tell me there's no point in trying
I'm at one, and I've been quiet for too long, oh
I've found peace in your violence
Can't tell me there's no point in trying
I'm at one, and I've been silent for too long, oh
I've been quiet for too long, oh
I've been quiet for too long, oh
I've found peace in your violence
Can't tell me there's no point in trying
I'm at one, and I've been quiet for too long, oh
