Khalid Celebrates 'American Teen' Going Platinum in the US on Twitter

Khalid's career is taking off in the UK. Not only has he just scored two Top 10 hits (his Logic feature '1-800-273-8255' and his Marshmello collaboration 'Silence') but his new single 'Young Dumb & Broke' also looks set to break the Top 20 this week.

And things are even bigger in the US. Khalid's debut album American Teen has just been certified Platinum.

THAT MEANS THAT AMERICAN TEEN HAS SOLD OVER ONE MILLION CHART COPIES IN AMERICA.

Khalid took to Twitter to celebrate the news last night. Addressing his fans the 'Homemade Dynamite' star wrote: "Earlier this year, I told myself that March 3rd was going to be the day to change my life. 7 months later, American Teen is Platinum."

"Thank you guys so much for everything man, this is so hard to process bc none of this feels real!"

What a star. And this is made even more amazing by the fact that American Teen has no features.

That's not all though. The star's first hit single 'Location' has also reached an incredible feat. It has gone 3x Platinum across the pond and, bearing in mind that it is still Number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100, there's every chance that it could go 4x Platinum.

And we have no doubt that its successor 'Young Dumb & Broke' will catch up with it very soon.

Khalid sang the acclaimed hit single on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night.
