Khloe Kardashian Reveals Her Family Told Her To Lose Weight To Stop ‘Hurting The Brand’
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star lost 40 pounds in the space of two years.
Khloe Kardashian has revealed that her family encouraged her to lose weight because her fuller-figure was supposedly “hurting” the Kardashian-Jenner brand.
Believe it or not, but Khloe explained in a recent episode of Revenge Body that her family didn’t exactly tiptoe around the fact that they wanted her to go on a diet.
Let's get checking out a bunch of times Kylie Jenner proved she was the Queen of selfies...
Recalling the time an unnamed member of her family advised: “Khloé, you got to lose weight cause you’re really hurting the brand,” the 33-year-old admitted that the conversation had a massive impact on her self-confidence.
"I’m a huge believer of it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it...I understand that was coming from my management side of my family, but it does hurt,” she added.
Of course, Khloe later managed to lose an incredible 40 pounds in the space of two years and penned 2015 book Strong Looks Better Naked about her weight-loss journey.
This isn’t the first time Khloe has opened up about the pressures of the industry on women who don’t fit into a sample size. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, she recalled being overlooked by stylists due to her size.
"I definitely think the fashion industry, and people in general, look at me more now that I've lost weight," she said.
"Even on shoots, I would never have options for clothing. There would always be this attention on Kourtney and Kim, but I was too much work for [stylists] or they had nothing in my size. I wasn't even that crazy big!"
As disappointing as this all is, it's good to see Khloe shedding light on some of the worst parts of the beauty industry.
