Khloe Kardashian Opens Up About Her Skin Cancer Scare: 'I Had Eight Inches Of Skin Removed'
The star wants to remind fans to get checked out if they notice 'something doesn't look right' with their skin.
Khloe Kardashian has bravely opened up about her skin cancer scare, urging her fans to take care of their health and get their skin checked frequently.
Sharing her experience in a post on her app and website, Khloe explained that she had to have eight inches of skin removed after a mole on her back was found to be cancerous.
Writing about having moles removed in the past, the star told fans: "I have moles everywhere, and a couple years ago, I noticed one growing under my breast. I immediately looked it up online and found out that if a mole is growing and changing shape, you should go to the doctor — so I did."
A biopsy of that mole Khloe had removed showed that it was benign, but as she explained, this wasn't the case with another one.
The Kardashian revealed: "There was one mole I had on my back that was skin cancer. I had eight inches of skin removed. It was definitely painful because it was a lot of skin, but most of the time, the removals haven't been that bad. Now that I've gone through this a couple of times, I am extra aware of my skin, body, and moles."
Explaining that she's sharing her experience to remind us all how important it is to check our skin frequently, Khloe added: "I'm writing this post with the hope that my story can get some of you in to see your doctor if you notice something wrong with your skin. I haven't had a problem in years, but wanted to share my experience with you so that if you notice something doesn't look right, you will take action and take care of your health!"
