Khloe Kardashian Speaks Out About Being Snubbed By Fashion Boutiques Due To Her Size
Khloe Kardashian has spoken up about being body-shamed.
Even though Khloe Kardashian is a pioneer of the double-denim trend, there was a time when she struggled to even find jeans stocked in her size, saying that shopping was too often a painful and "embarrassing" experience.
Revealing that high-end boutiques are pretty awful at catering for all shapes and sizes, she told Grazia: "When I used to shop at high-end boutiques for jeans with my sisters, they would ask for waist size 28 or 26.
Even though Khloe was only looking for a slightly larger waist-band, finding it could be a real struggle: "I would ask for a 31 and the sales assistants would look at me, make this hissing sound and reply, "We don't carry that size here."
She added: "It made me feel so embarrassed and ashamed that for a long time in my life I didn't wear denim... It does scar. I've held on to those words for so long."
Still, Khloe is now putting her bad experience to good use by including a diverse range of sizes (we're talking US size four to size twenty-eight) in her Good American denim line.
Let's just hope those fashion boutiques and certain high-street brands follow suit in making their sizing more inclusive. It's about time.
