Jim Carrey has been officially confirmed as a cast member for comic book movie sequel Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall.
The comic was previously reported to be in talks to play Colonel Stars in the follow-up to the hugely popular, violent and sweary Kick-Ass, and now director Jeff Wadlow then hinted that Carrey was on board.
Wadlow tweeted: "6 days till we start shooting... and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f'n then! @ChloeGMoretz @MintzPlasse @donald_faison #kickass2."
And Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who plays Red Mist, tweeted back to ask who had been cast - original comic book writer Mark Millar replied with some very heavy hints.
He said: "Clue - he lives with 200 raccoons and parrots, owns the mask of Loki and named by spielberg as a genius."
Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Moretz and Nicolas Cage will all reprise their roles in the sequel, which is set for release next July.
Andy Nyman has been cast to play villain The Tumour in the new movie.
