Rubber-faced comic has been cast as Colonel Stars in sequel...
Jim Carrey has been officially confirmed as a cast member for comic book movie sequel Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall.
The comic was previously reported to be in talks to play Colonel Stars in the follow-up to the hugely popular, violent and sweary Kick-Ass, and now director Jeff Wadlow then hinted that Carrey was on board.
Wadlow tweeted: "6 days till we start shooting... and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f'n then! @ChloeGMoretz @MintzPlasse @donald_faison #kickass2."
And Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who plays Red Mist, tweeted back to ask who had been cast - original comic book writer Mark Millar replied with some very heavy hints.
He said: "Clue - he lives with 200 raccoons and parrots, owns the mask of Loki and named by spielberg as a genius." Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Moretz and Nicolas Cage will all reprise their roles in the sequel, which is set for release next July.
