Jim Carrey 'Unrecognisable In Kick-Ass 2'
Actor says his role as Colonel Stars is different to anything he's done before...
The 51-year-old star plays Colonel Stars in the comic book movie sequel, and he claims the role is a million miles from his usual parts.
He told Fandango: "It's going to be fun. It's different for me. They called me up and said we want you to play this ex-Mafia enforcer, Sam DeStefano-style. So I looked at myself in the mirror and went, 'OK, might have to do some work'.
"I got my own make-up guys together and we just started experimenting and it's amazing how little you have to do to completely change your personality. We came up with a guy that no-one is going to recognise as me. It's so far away from anything that you've seen. It's really fun."
The sequel sees the return of Aaron Tyalor-Johnson as self-styled superhero Kick-Ass, along with Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl and Christopher Mintz-Plasse as villain Red Mist - who takes on the new pseudonym "The Motherf**ker".
We told you recently how the release date had been postponed by two months.
It will now be released on 16 August this year.
