Jim Carrey 'Wanted For Kick-Ass 2'
Studio reported to be chasing star for key role in comic book sequel...
Deadline reports that the studio is keen to recruit Carrey, 50, to play Colonel Stars in Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall - which is set to begin production next month.
The website said: "Carrey is a big fan of Matthew Vaughn and his original Kick-Ass film.
"He wore the Kick-Ass costume for a musical duet with a bearded Conan O'Brien. But dealmaking is dealmaking, and this is far from a sure thing, at this point just a great idea."
Chloe Moretz, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nicolas Cage are all set to return for the sequel.
The Colonel Stars character is a member of the Justice Forever crimefighting team in the comic books by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.
The second movie is set for release next June.
